Hi, my name is Julie Medearis, and I am a Catholic mother of five children trying my best to heal, nourish, and support my family the best I can.   One way I do this is by eating and serving paleo foods.  With my kids ranging from preschooler to college, this is darn difficult at times.  I know there are many other mothers out there trying to do the same thing.  So welcome to our PaleoWithKids.com Blog!

What that “p” word means to me

While I use the term paleo in this blog, I was hesitant to use it at first.   It’s not that I don’t abide by the paleo diet, but this word can denote more than what I want to portray.  The fact of the matter is that this little ‘p’ word is easier to say multiple times than “grain-free, dairy-free, legume-free, processed sugar-free diet”!

Or in the simplest terms, paleo to me means real food.

We eat this way because it is healthier for our bodies, minds and spirits.  Here is my story, and it continues on the pages of this blog.
